E-TEN company presents Glofiish X500+ - a new ultra thin communicator with VGA-screen.

E-TEN Information Systems, Taiwan company, officially announces a launch of a new model of communicator, Glofiish X500+, the first pen-based Windows Mobile communicator on the market with the screen of high resolution (VGA: 480 x 640). This new device shall be the first communicator brought on the market on the basis of a new operating system Windows Mobile 6.

The basic feature of a new Glofiish X500+ is VGA-screen, supporting four-fold resolution (VGA –480 x 640 opposite QVGA – 240x320) in comparison with the previous company models, and with the overwhelming majority of other producers’ communicators available to the customer at the moment. Thanks to higher resolution pictures and snapshots, clips and films, schemes and maps are displayed on the screen more distinctly and with a greater number of details.  

Another characteristic of a new communicator which makes it special on the market is an up-to-date operating system Windows Mobile 6, announced by Microsoft corporation in February, 2007. Glofiish X500+ shall become the first communicator put on the mass market which has been originally developed on the basis of this operating system. The new operating system has the following peculiarities: extended functionality of Mobile Office programs (Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Pocket Power Point), advanced capabilities for the work with calendar and e-mail, new opportunities for integration into complicated corporate mail systems.

Speaking about Glofiish X500+’ peculiarities we can’t but mention 2-megapixel program focus camera (it allows to take pictures of closely-spaced objects, as well as utilities of аutomatic recognition of business card text by the photo (with a new Contact creation).

The design of the device hasn’t remained unchanged. Exteriorly Glofiish X500+ resembles a hit model Glofiish X500, but it will be available in two variants: in the case made of grey plastic («metal-like»), and in a new elegant black case made of «soft touch» material (plastic with rubber-coated effect).

The E-TEN company was set up in 1985 and was originally engaged in development of information input systems for the Chinese language for DOS systems. After tremendous success at the Chinese market E-TEN initiated research in the field of hardware solutions.
